Message is still higher than a VGDETT but lower than a DE. i think it's in the 9's. the stroke is longer = lower red line, the intake runners on the VG33NA are really small vrs the DE ones. as for SOHC vs Dohc, im not with nissan and didn't make/desigh the set up but maybe it's just an issue of fewer things to go wroing and no really needed sense it's lacking a VTC system. but also emmitions and a lot of other things are factors in to HP changes here and there. there are also 2 resenator boxes on my intake system. and the exhaust system is not a great design, but for a truck it gets the job done.

when i was doing research between the tocoma and the fronty the tocoma had more HP but there where a few more issues with reliability.

and the new SC and NA fronties have 10- more HP and torq for the 03 year do to changes in the intake system from what i have read.
